Ad Forms Section 4 :
Creating an Account at Yahoo!

Yahoo is one of my favorite places to advertise. This and Google are the best Pay Per Click Search Engines to use. I recommend that you use both Google and Yahoo.

A nice feature of Yahoo is that if your ad is in the top 3 positions for that keyword then your results will be seen by users searching for that keyword on other large sites. That means that you can advertise on Yahoo and be seen on: Yahoo, MSN, CNN, AltaVista, InfoSpace, and AllTheWeb! That's a lot of traffic!

Let's get started.

Setting up your new Yahoo Account:

If you don't have a Yahoo Search Marketing account yet, then you'll need to set one up. I have included a link for you get a Free $25 Signup Bonus added to your account. That means that you will have $25 free to start using. You should be able to get at least one or two joins from that free $25. Then take the money you earn from those sales and flip it again. It's quite possible to just use their money to start with and then just use your profits and never have to pull any money out of your pocket!

You will see a screen similiar to the one below. Click the SIGN UP button.

 


Now you will see a page that looks like this one below. Click the Self Service Signup Button. I don't recommend the Fast Track plan. I'm going to walk you through every step of the process with these nice big arrows. That will save you some money.


Now once you click the Signup Button like demonstrated above, you will see a page like this one below. Just Select your Country (Step 1) and then click the Continue button (Step 2).


HINT: If at any time you can't get the page to advance to the next section, look for the red text. If you make an error the page will output some red text towards the top. That will tell you how to fix the problem.

Now you will see a screen like this one below:


Step 1: What you need to do now is create your Category Name. This is just for your personal reference. This is just a name you'll use to identify this particular listing. YOu could use "typeathome", or "firstcampaign", or anything you want.


Step 2 above: This is where you enter in the keywords you want your ad to appear under. Lets say you are going to promote our site, Type at Home, you could use keywords like these:

- Work at Home

- Home Business

- Business Opportunity

- Data Entry Jobs

etc.


Let's take the term Home Business as an example.

Step 1: Enter Home Business and click the Get Keywords button. Now a list of related keywords will show up. To the right of each keyword in the Monthly Search Volume column it tells you how many people searched for that keyword on Yahoo last month. The next column is called Est. Clicks. That's how many clicks you would get if you were in the #1 spot for that keyword.

Step 2: click the box next to each keyword you want to add. You will see them come up in the big white box in real time. You can unclick a keyword and it will remove it from the list.

Keep repeating these steps with all the keywords you want to use in your campaign.

 

I recommend you use 20 - 100 keywords for each campaign. You can never have too many either. I have included a huge list below that work for promoting the Type at Home site.


When you are done adding keywords click the "Continue" Button on and you will be take to a page that looks like this one below.

Step 1: Enter in the text you want displayed in your ad when someone searches for your keywords. There are 3 parts to this step. You need to enter the Title, Description, and URL. You want the title to grab their attention and if possible include the keyword in both the Title and Description. So if one of your keywords was "home business" you might write something like this for your Title:

·         Easy Home Business

·         Profitable Home Business

·         Incredible Business Opportunity


Then you for your Description you should say a Feature and/or a Benefit of the product you're marketing. You want to capture their attention here and try to include the keyword here if possible. When you include the keyword in the Title and Description it greatly increases the amount of clicks you get.

So if one of your keywords was "home business" you might write something like this:

Are you a business minded individual? Start your own home business in the next 24 hours. No inventory, no large investment, no orders to take or deliver, and no pressuring customers.
 

No gimmicks, no empty promises, just good business. We are looking for individuals interested in starting their own legitimate home business. $50,000+ first year income potential.
 

Are you serious about wanting to start or grow a home business on the internet? The first step you must take is to cut through all the web marketing hype and dead-end business opportunities.

 

Then you need to enter your hoplink for the site you will be promoting. The hoplink for the Type at Home site is:

http://XXXXX.typehome.hop.clickbank.net

Remember to put your nickname in where it says XXXXX.

 

Step 2: Click click the "Separate Titles & Descriptions for Each Keyword" link. The proceed to the instruction below.


After you click the "Separate Titles & Descriptions for Each Keyword" link you'll come to this screen. What you want to do is try to include your Keyword into the Title and Description as much as possible.

You'll see in the example below that I put the keyword into the Title of each ad. In the top one I made it read: Home Business Typing at Home and for the second one I made it read: Home Based Business.

On this screen you want add the keyword to as many titles as you can.

After you have edited all your Titles and Descriptions, click the Continue button on the bottom right hand corner of your screen.

 


 

Next you come to a screen like the one below.

Step 1: You need to change your bids for each keyword. By default it puts you in the top position for each keyword. You want to change this to a max of .30 cents to start with. You can increase or decrease this one you are ads are live. This is the amount you will pay each time someone clicks on your keywords. When you have changed all your keywords to 0.30 then click the Update Bids button.

Step 2: When you change your bids to .30 cents and click the Update Bids button it will change your Average Daily Budget accordingly. Make sure your daily budget says $30 or less per day. You can make it lower if you wish. Remember you're getting $25 free to start with.

IMPORTANT TIP: You want to check on your PPC campaigns at least once a day!

When you are done with these changes, click the Continue button on the bottom right of the screen. If you have more keywords then can fit on one screen you might have to do this procedure a few times.


 

Now you will come to a screen like this one below:

You need to fill out all the fields that have a red star next to them. For the "Company Name" box you can just use your full name. Make sure to write down your User Name and Password and keep it in a safe place. Check the "I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions" box and click the continue button.


You will now see a screen like this one below. Be sure to change the initial deposit to amount that is comfortable for you. I recommend starting with just $5. Enter in your credit card details and click the Continue button.


 

Next you will see a questionnaire like the one below. Just fill it out and then hit the Continue button on the bottom right of your screen.


When you complete the survey you will see your confirmation screen like the one below. That's all you have to do to setup your Yahoo account. The review department will review your submission and activate it within 3 business days. While we wait for Yahoo to review your account we'll do setup with it. You'll want to click the link called Account Access.


You will now see a page like the one below. Fill in your User Name and Password. Then type the 4 characters you see in the box. Now click the "Login" button.


Once you're logged in you will a screen like this one below. You want to turn your account to the "Off" position. You'll keep it in the "Off" position until you get notice that your account has been approved. Then you can do the same thing, but turn it to "On." We do this so that you know when the traffic is starting and you can monitor it.

What you'll do is make sure that in this section it says "Account: Off." If it says "On" then just click the word "On." That will take you to the account setup page. There you can set it to "Off" and click the save or submit button.

If you ever need to turn your account on or off this is how you do it. For instance, if you are waiting for your referral checks to come in so you can flip your profits this is the way to start and stop your traffic. Just make sure to watch your campaigns every day!
